Chairman's Message
Don Melbourne
Current Chairman, West Midlands Barbershop Harmony Club
Chances are that if you are reading this you have some awakening interest in close harmony singing (or Barbershop, or a cappella), whether you are someone who is entirely new to singing, or just have a go in the shower, or whether you already sing and want a change of style.
In either case my job is simple – to encourage you to take the next step and come along to a rehearsal (Tuesday evenings 7.30pm, Grove Vale School, Monksfield Avenue, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 1AL)
But why should you?
Well you choose…
- To have Fun.
- To be Inspired.
- To make new Friends.
- To be Coached with your singing (whatever your level, or your age).
- To find a health-giving and absorbing hobby.
- To be part of a friendly and supportive choral community.
- To get the kick of achievement when the harmony fits together (Yes, and the goosebumps)…the list goes on.
Most of all
singing raises the spirits, touches the emotions and gladdens the heart. Is there a better way to spend your time ? I doubt it. All of us wish we had discovered the hobby earlier.
So come along
and experience our warm welcome. If you don`t like dropping into the unknown please phone or e-mail anyone on the Contact Us page and they will arrange for someone to pick you up the first week. Then you can walk through the door with a friend – the first of many.
Life is for living
So come on, you won`t regret it !
Just say `Hello Don` and let me be the first to shake your hand.
Yours In Harmony,
Don Melbourne
